Brass Nut or Not?

I don't care for brass nuts. If they are not slotted perfectly or the string just doesn't fit right, it can sometimes be a pain tuning the strings because they can get hung up in the slot. My preference for a replacement nut (if I had to) would be bone or even better, graphite.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

I have zero frets on the basses I built. I like zero frets.
On my Ricks I had fitted them with aluminum nuts. I figured the bridge saddles are aluminum, so why not? They sounded fine... can't really say it altered the sound at all, and of course a metal nut will only affect the open string sound.
