here's another rc classic from 64, Yorkshire lad Dave Berry with for me his best ever, not the greatest singer but it has given me a career that is still going strong

Now the guitar on this is without question Jimmy Page no one has disputed it and Bery confirms it, the guitar makes the record, haunting for me. Anyone who has only heard version by Boy George then now's your chance to hear how it should sound.

And masterful work by Page it was Roy. Thanks for bringing our attention to this blast from the past. Dave Berry and The Crusisers were not a household word on this side of the Atlantic.

Do you have his version of Little Things in your library?

I have listened to Little Things by Dave Berry and it is essentially a carbon copy of the Goldsboro arrangement. I found Berry's vocal a little weak in comparison but interesting nonetheless.

I really liked that song Roy and I usually love Pages idiosyncratic work but I didn't like most of what he did on this song, perhaps if it had been mixed a little lower I would have liked it better, but over all I thought that was a really great song.
I've never heard Boy George's version ...Thank God.

...i've heard this one before, it was on "It's only pops but i like it" compilation... And eh... i did hear Boy George's version, too... totally different, and no need to say i prefer the earliest one...

Hi Peter,

Jimmy Page also played as a session guitarist on the debut single for a Southampton, band Les Fleur De Lys. Released on Immediate Records. The A side was "Seven Golden Daffodils" and the B side was "Wait for Me" (an instrumental written by Page). I believe the year was 1964. Both sides were great.

My band was managed by Dave Jay (a very famous DJ in England). He also managed Les Fleur De Lys. Small world isnt it?

I recall the song but not the band two other singles were released with that title and both charted one for The Mojos and one for The Cherokees, when I return fron the Canary Islands I´ll check it out.
