Tell me about the 325c64. . .
I see soooo much about the c58. . . and hardly anything about the 64. Does somebody have something to say about it? What is it like? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? What does it sound like cranked up. . .or overdriven? Does it attract women like the 360?

Patrick- It isn't out yet!? Wait . . .sorry if I sound kinda . . . ignorant but I've seen pictures of it online . .North Coast Music. Are those from a guitar show or something? I recently placed an order with Music123 for the 64, was that a good idea? Is there any better way of getting one, in the future that is. . . So is this c64 a limited edition type thing? Will it only come out just this once?

So many questions! I'll see if I can answer them all, someone will eventually correct me if I say something that isn't right.
The one featured at NCM is infact from a guitar show. It was a prototype at the time.
I've never purchased anything from Music123 myself but I don't think that there would be a problem with having ordered it from them. I may be wrong here, but they probably have some kind of 45-day return policy which means if you end up disliking the guitar you can return it.
It's quite impossible to tell what the future will bring, I think that it's a better idea to order it now then waiting until it's out. The sooner you order, the closer you are to the top of the mailing list.
I'm not sure what the pricing is on one of them but I'm sure all the prices are pretty similar anywhere you'll look.
The C-series isn't really a limited edition because you can put an order for them at any time and there's no set limit for the series.
It's the same thing as the Vintage series. At one point they do become limited because they will eventually stop production one day I'd imagine. Maybe John Hall would be able to comment on this but I don't think it would be realistic to say that they will produce the 325C64 untill the end of time.
Sean, if you're a Lennon fan, there is no compromise for this guitar. It is the holy grail.
So no matter how much you paid, or how much time it will take for it to be released, you'll be one happy camper once you have it.
Just wondering, do you own any other Rickenbacker's that you would like to comment on? You should post pictures if you have some!

Yes indeed! I bought a 360/12 in January and I absolutely love it!!!! I was so . . .blown away when I opened the case when it arrived! I always found the sound of the Beatles intriguing, but I wasn't really informed on the specific guitars they used. I always wanted to upgrade and I thought a 12 string would be awesome. I remember when I was in middle school I would " Read my English book " wink wink and look at the Rickenbackers in Musicians Friend. They were always way too expensive for me. . .but something about them just. . .made me real curious. . .and made me have funny feelings. So here I was. .had a job for a few years and it hit me one day. I HAVE MONEY!!! uh?!?! RICKENBACKER!!! So I dashed to the computer and looked up the prices and I realized I had the funds to buy one. I liked the 330. . .but it was a little too pointy for my flavor so I settled with the 360. I never played one, never seen one in person but I knew it was the one. A week later I was jamming with my amp wide open! I'm very impressed with my set-up. I have a 120 Watt- Crate GT212. I also have a real old 200 Watt- Crate B80Xl bass amp. I have a morley signal splitter thing so I can plug into both amps at once. This enables me to turn the bass all the way down on my guitar amp so I can get really ear piercing "chime and jangle". Without the bass chomping the tone. I then turn the bass up to a pleasing level on the bass amp and tweak to my fancy. It sounds AmaZinG!
I'm blown away by the amount of people who don't know who Rickenbacker is. Everyone wants to touch it. . .play it. . .hear it. I feel like a walking advertisement. I probably have supplied Rick with a few more happy customers. I play some around town and everywhere I go. . .it's like " WHOA!" It's just amazing. . .I can't say anymore!
The 12 strings were a bit hard to get used to. It was very painful for the first little while, but it's well worth it. I feel like the worthy one. Most people can't even fret a barr chord on it!
The 325. . . it sent chills up my spine. I got a poster with my 360 and I was like. . .hmm 325 miami. . sounds pretty sexy. Then I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan and John was sporting his 325. I figured it was the 64 because it had the 5th knob. I call it the "weasel knob" The tribute band 1964 the Tribute comes to my town every year to play. Thus "John" usually sports the 64. I love it's tone, I love it's shape. I love the short neck! I gotta have it!!!!
What do you sport?
I have a pic, but the comp says it's too big. How do you make it smaller?!

Great story, I almost did the same thing.
I was bidding on a Strat on eBay and got outbid and decided to get a Rickenbacker instead because it would be nicer I thought. Never having seen one or played one in my life I won the auction for a 1979 Burgundy 370.
Here's a picture:
To upload a picture there's two requirements to fill. First it must be under 500*500 pixels and second it must be under 36kb.
You will need some kind of editing program, I do believe there are some free ones that do exactly that.
Unfortunately I don't have the name of any...

Thanks guys! I find myself lucky to stumble upon it like I did!
Dale: Sadly it's got a chip on the smaller horn, it's visible in that picture, it's not too big, but it's far from small...
From what I understand it was bought from a collector and that person didn't like the tone, at that point it ended up on eBay and I got it.
I think the first owner had it for like 24 years before selling it.
Sean: Looks like a cool picture!

Hello! I am new to the forum.I am a big lennon fan and am thinking of buying a 350v63 or 325c64. One of the features that I find different is the pickups of the 350 seem to be space out more then the 325. Can anyone tell me dose this make the sound different? I also know the neck is longer which I like but dose this change from the 325 affect its play. I have never played the 325 but wonder if there are any limitations to any of them, the pros and cons,..ect
Thanks for your help!

It's not the pickups that are the big news, Juan...it's the neck and scale length. The 325 is a so-called "3/4" scale guitar, with a scale length of around 20 3/4". The 350 has a standard scale length of 24 3/4". This affects, not only sound, but playability.
Best to try them both before buying.

Juan, this is what I posted recently:
(slightly modified here):
" ...keep in mind that the bridge of the 350V63 (a guitar with a full scale neck) sits about 0.75 inches closer to the tailpiece than the bridge of the 325V63/325/325C64, (with 2/3rd scale necks). This is because the 350V63 has a 21-fret neck (21 frets like all 325 have).
The older 350 guitars had a 24-fret full scale neck, these guitars had the same lay out (neck and bridge position) as all the 325s, because the neck of the 325, so to say, is a full scale 24-fret neck without the FIRST 3 frets.
Confusing? "
