I would prefer the old wooden cases. I have an SKB that I got new with another bass about 10 yrs ago that ******* out on me within the first year. It only went from my bedroom to rehearal with the local community college jazz ensemble and back. The feet were all punched in, two of the hinges had the plastic all around them come apart, same with a latch. They were all intact, it was the plastic they were mounted on that completely came apart and the rest of the case was warped...I have kinda been turned off of SKB guitar cases since...
Never ask "how much worse could it possibly get?"
