Tuners on LS & Burg

Post by bob_atherton »

This shot is from the Bjorn Eriksson site. It is the back of a 4005LS (light show). It looks pretty much the same as the reverse head of my '78 Burgundyglo. I assumed that my tuners had been changed to the 'new' ones shown, yet I thought the LS was around at the end of the 70's or have I got that wrong?

Anyway is there any chance that the tuners shown here could have been fitted to a new '78 Burg?

Those are not original tuners, a 78 would have reverse tuners on it stock, I have 78, and 79 4001's and an 81 4003 and they all have reverse tuners and no writing. I had a 77 at one time and it too had reverse tuners, they occasionally used Grovers back then if they ran out of reverse but that's about it. I don't know what year they changed back to regular turn tuners and don't know what year the named Ric tuners started either.
I think they only made the light show for a year or two around 69-70.
