Gentlemen, Please Avert Your Gaze!
Yes, what you're seeing here is a '66 370/12 FG stripped of its hardware. It felt indecent to take the picture, but then I have no shame. I've made the decision to rebuild this guitar in the very near future. It's neck and body will be totally disassembled, reset and refinished. I'm currently going through the hardware to make sure that every part and every fastener will be perfect for reassembly. As you can see, a previous owner nibbled away part of the control cavity to accommodate extra switches, but luckily it is concealed by the pickguard. New pickguards will be ordered and a new wiring harness. When complete the center pick-up will be properly centered (which bugged me to no end). Any pitted chrome parts will be replated. I will probably upgrade to a 12-saddle bridge. Didn't I tell you to look away!!!!!?

Randy, what a coincidence! I have just this minute stripped one of my 330's (a '97) for a trip to Mansons tomorrow, to be routed for a third pick up. I have just prepared it for a pic, but it looks so sad....beautiful FG though.
I am adding a third pick up, replacing the R tailpiece with an accent, fitting gold TRC & guards (guards courtesy of Tony at Pickguardian), replacing the bass tone control with a mid p/up volume control & fitting a new bridge (as the old one was not centered correctly), as well as various new screws (well done RicsRUs & Rosetti for having stock!!!!) & a set up.
Doesn't get more exciting than that!

'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.
