Good point, John...Rev. #9 wasn't even the beginning of avant-garde non-music.

Oh my, look what I started!!

Actually Paul gave the producers the finished "Live and Let Die" and they thought it was a demo. Funny.

I'm suprised I haven't seen "Silly Love Songs" yet! Where is "Ebony and Ivory"??

Good point, Nate...although the thread title says "annoy", a term hardly strong enough to describe what those songs do. To me at least...IMHO...etc.

LOL!!!
I don't like "E&I" But "Silly Love Songs" is ok. It's annoying but I learned it anyway and it is actually quite fun to play on bass and sing.

I think we fought those to a draw a coupla months ago...

I love Mind Games and and have no words to describe how I feel about E&I (that I can put in here anyway) besides the fact this it is, BAR NONE the absolute worst song ever even associated with the Beatles, any musicians that ever played with them, and of their solo stuff, any of their kids stuff, any of their grandchildrens, any of their greatgrandchildren in 2050's stuff, etc. etc. etc.

Curse you Nate!!! Now it's in my mind!!! ahrrggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nate,
I always loved Backwards Traveler. It is one of my favorite tracks on an album I've always felt was underrated. Great album.

Not to bluntly disagree or anything, but I think Ebony & Ivory is alright. The version on 'Tripping The Live Fantastic' sounds great with Paul & Hamish Stuart.

I haven't heard the original recording in a while though...

I agree, the one on "tripping" is ok... but it still sucks... I love the London Town album... just not fond of that song and "Famous Groupies".

A couple from McCartney that I've never really liked are:

Bip Bop, off of Wild Life (love the rest of the album, though)

Mamumia, from Band On The Run. The title and the repetition of the title just put the song behing the 8 ball for me. I can tolerate it more now due to its melodic playing, but I sure used to skip over it alot when I'd put the needle down (before the real "skip" button came into being!)

I like that song... The Moog in it is a nice effect.

The one song I almost always skip over (then and now) is I Wanna Be Your Man. I just can't tolerate that one and it's not Ringo's singing. I just think the song itself is terrible, the melody and the chord changes. The repetition in there (of the E7 and the lyrics) is grating. However, nearly every live version of that song is much more tolerable to me.
Just make the time to play guitar!
