I did say 'at a pinch', Andrew.

OK - decision made? If we ever meet up it's gonna be Cooper's Sparkling (tapped or bottle) or Boag's Draught tapped (means I'll have to come down your way). Whaddya reckon??

Maybe we should meet on King or Flinders Island with a case each of Coopers!! Neutral ground and all that - hahahaha!!

It's funny when we discuss the virtues and failings of different guitars it is all done in a gentlemanly conduct, but when the subject is beer, it's gloves off, spitting, scratching, hair pulling and no holds barred!!!

Just got back from the village pub with a chicken kiev and a couple of pints of Guinness under the belt. It's a hard life here in North Yorkshire!

Hmmmmm... that reminds me - I've got a few cans of Guinness in the fridge, Peter.

I'm having lunch with an old friend next Wednesday and the pre-lunch drinks will be a few pints of the same. A couple of bottles of a nice 'ballsy' shiraz with the meal and a pint or two to finish off - LOVELY!! I'll see if I can take a picture of two of the event! Image

Looks like i came here too late, but anyway, since this country wasn't mentioned by anyone else...
Sheena, Russian Federation, Moscow origin, near the town called Dmitrov, or Moscow the capital (work and sometimes live there).
And I LOVE BEER TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sheena...can you still get Chicken Kiev in Russia, or does one have to travel to North Yorkshire to experience it?
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

Yep, Dane... although not everywhere (maybe in Kiev it's easier, but it's Ukraine, and now i have to get a visa to come there), and actually i prefer "shashlyk" (albeit it's a Georgian food, something very close to barbecue). 8-)

What beers do you prefer, Sheena? Are there any good Russian ones? Perhaps "Motherland Malt Extra" with a picture of that huge statue on the label.... Image

Aitch... 8-) Yes, there are good Russian ones, "Zhigulevskoe" for instance - "once you try it, you'd never forget it". 8-) Nah, kiddin'. There are some: "Obolon'" (Ukrainian, in fact), "Yarpivo", as far as the "foreign" ones are concerned, i like Lovenbrau and Tuborg (cause they're quite cheap here 8-).
BTW, what statue do you mean?

Oh... might have ignored this question, i did guess which one you've meant right after i've made a step away from my computer (although the first i thought about was actually "Worker and Kolkhozian, the one which is in Moscow 8-) that'd be more likely to make it to a beer bottle 8-)...
I'd have preferred this one on the beer bottle...

But we don't have any of them on beer bottles still...

I saw a documentary on the statue last week. The guy who manages the statue and surrounding parkland has his office in the neck!!
