Just ordered myself a white Thunderbird to ease the pain a little bit and give me something to take my mind off the wait, should be here in 5 days.

I've been waiting about 7 months for my 4004cii/bbr
....It's not a matter of "wanting what you can't have" for me....there are plenty of "almost" new Ricks on the 'bay and other markets.

I just LOVE the BBR's that I've seen so far.....especially the unbound models....

I have two 620s on order - a Midnight Blue ordered in Jan '05, and a Blueburst ordered in May '05. When I ordered the first one I was told it would take 6 to 12 months, and I've just passed the 6 month milestone. I have to admit that the wait is driving me crazy. I desperately want to get my hands on these beautiful instruments.

A more practical problem I have with waiting is that I'm in a "weekend warriors" covers band, and my cut is approx Aus$6000 per year. I spend all my band money on high quality gear, which is tax deductible against my band earnings. Waiting for the Rics means that the money is just sitting in my bank account until the 620s arrive. Therefore no Rics = a big tax bill. In other words, waiting for them means they are going to cost me a lot more than the purchase price.

Steve, car or guitar? Congrats on either. Details, please.

I'm thinking guitar, Paul. If it's the car, Steve seems very relaxed about it.... I'd be crowing!!

Carl: Did you get involved with Weekend Warriors? I haven't signed up yet but it won't be long. I go to all the gigs in Melbourne just to pickup the vibes..... magic!!

Steve, white Birds are so nice, please post pics when she comes in.

4004ciiBBR ordered last January; I'm in no hurry because I recognize that it takes time to select that perfect piece of flamed maple...

I had a wait of over 16 months for my 4004/5Cii. It was worth the wait.

Steve, I'm looking forward to seeing your new T-bird.

Howard...

Sorry, bad choice of words on my part. When I said "weekend warrior" I just meant my band is a hobby and I don't earn my living from it.

I'm not familiar with the "Weekend Warriors" you're referring to.

OK, Carl. Try googling 'Weekend Warriors'. It's an avenue for 'old farts' like me to relive or realize our dreams.

Needs a nice silver pickguard and TRC.
