Gold pguard and trc for which of my ricks?

Post by golfo »

just picked up an after-market pguard and a genuine trc (at least the seller says it is and it looks like one) from ebay. i bought it to put on my 330/12 fireglo along with a set of tv knobs. then i got to thinking - maybe i should put in on the 360/6 montezuma brown?
what do you all think?

They would go nice on the 360/6MB but if it were me I would leave them on the 330/12FG.

MB looks so good with gold. See Paul's 381 and 660.

Geoff, gold looks fantastic on an older, darker FG, not so convinced on the new 'bright' FG though.

When you get the TRC, just place it on both of your gtrs & you will know instantly which one you prefer. Is it a 12 string TRC, if so, they do look quite odd on a 6 string & if it's a 6 string TRC, you will have to shape it for your 12!
That may make your decision for you...

i had NO idea the trc was different for the 6/12 strings.
that will most likely make the decision easie, all rightr.

Not to mention that 12-string TRCs are slightly different from guitar to guitar...

If you post the ebay link Geoff, we'll be able to tell you if it's a 6 or 12...

BTW, guys - where would one source a set of 'oven/TV' knobs (I've seen them referred to as both)? I'm thinking they might look good on my 660/12 FG!

If they wont sell them to you because of your location let me know I'll get them for you and forward them on to OZ

It would just cost you a bit extra for postage

It's a 6 string TRC.

Pretty confident it is.

Howdy,

I'll try to be tactful. I prefer a gold pickguard and TRC for JG only. Have a nice day and YMMV Image

patrick
was is it that gives you the sense it's for a 6?
i compared it to both my 6 and 12 trcs and i can't see much of a difference except for one of them is rather pointy and one is more rounded.
