Sorry I clicked on the original link in this thread and it came up as invalid item, but in my ebay it's still there. Strange? And is the high bidder going to wear those shell suits when he plays it? He should be easy to spot (LOL)

Now he tells me that if I don't have confidence in his bids that I should stay away. An offer is not going to happen.

There's other bass guitars. I'll live. I still think he may end up getting screwed in the end.

in my opinion....if RIC made a 4005 reissue with a reasonable retail price (2 - 2,5K dollars)there won't be such high prices for a vintage one..come on, 10K dollars for something they give up production because there'd been almost no request in the last 15 years...

I'm hanging in there for a 4005 reissue myself. By all accounts the old ones are not that easy to maintain, and as I would want to gig it I, personally, would feel a bit reserved about 'letting go' on stage with $10k in my hands.

Exactly Bob...The 4005 looks and feels very delicate... and I rarely bring my '67 4005 on stage... even if it's the funniest bass to play I have...thin and smooth neck..simply wonderful!
I am sure a 3K dollars vintage reissue would be my favourite bass on stage.

I don't find them high maintenance at all. I never have to adjust the truss rods or hardly have to tune it either.

I gig with mine at every opportunity, usually outdoor gigs as it can tend to feedback at high volumes around 110 Hz.

Ask Brian Crisman, he's seen me gig with it and I am not overly gentle in my playing!

Woah man, 70 posts. Looks like i caused a certain amount of beef like. Just wanna say sorry for pulling my bass off E Bay. Too many idiots and no offers coming close. Hey welcome Kelly, I'm sure you will find your in good company here a bunch of 60s 4005s and 4001s just about everything,now that your a member if you do sell any Ric bass as a policy here you have to give us forumites a crack at it first,plus sorta keeps it in the family if you know what i mean.Going on ebay to sell is a last resort here,we buy from there once in a while.
