This is a picture of me and the 1990 4003 that has to be the cheapest Rickenbacker bass that I have had the pleasure to restore own and gig and now some six months down the line and many gigs later this bass is fantastic with that Rickenbacker growl in bucket loads it stays in tune and has never let me down in fact this bass has made me enough money through the gigs that I now have a new SWR amp head and cab not bad for a £160.00 investment.

Email me and I will send you the full story of how I found this superb bass but please note you will require broad band if you want all the pictures.

All the best Dave Carr

So David...Was the above photo taken right after you sucked the juice out of half of a lemon?

Nice looking basses. I'm curious about them. Did you have new wings put on the headstock of the CS look-alike or is it paint? I like the color on the seagreen/blue one. Did you paint over the binding or remove it?

Jeff the 4003s or CS look-alike was very abused by the former owner and the head stock was well damaged with much paint missing so i removed the rest of the colour as i could see the other wood colour under the white finish and there was the wings and i just re-laquered head stock then over time the white finish faded and we now have a cream colour just like Mr Squires.

As for the 4003 it was rebuilt and repainted "it had to be done" (Email me and i will send you a picture before and after)as for the binding the guy i bought it of sanded and paint stripped it of so i just contoured the body a little and painted it seagreen.
