Well, it's here, and it's awesome.
If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up. It is SO choice!

Only problem was with Music123.com. I ordered the bass and the case together, and asked them to ship the bass IN the case. I get 2 boxes. 1 has a case in it, the other, the bass. Upon closer inspection, the bass has a tiny ding in the back where SOMETHING penetrated the box. HAD IT BEEN SHIPPED IN THE CASE, it wouldn't be a problem. To their credit, they gave me $50 credited to my card because they damaged it. I figure it saves me from having to worry about that first "ding". Image

Oh, Man, that's sweet. Back in '66, one of my bass players had one of those (sunburst). Brings back memories. They had some killer custom colors, too!

Whatever could MUSIC 123 have been thinking? I'll bet the case is in perfect condition!

Yes, Paul, the case arrived without a scratch. Hence, my frustration. Image
One of the things I love about it is the white accent on the headstock, and the white neck. I was worried that it might be something other than white, but it's DAZZLING white.

Very nice indeed, Steve. Don't fall in love too deeply - remember you've got a Rick on the way!!

Can't understand why they would ship the 2 items separately..... totally illogical, and would cost more too, one would assume!

Steve, that's so pretty! I love the black hardware and the dark fret board. Is the TRC two ply? That looks really sharp. Is it neck through? How do you get it to stay on your stand?

Too bad about the ding; although I like Music 123, my last order from them was actually drop shipped from somewhere else, so they may not have had both items in the same location. FWIW I once requested MF to inspect something before shipping and they wouldn't open the box; I think that the volume of shipping that some of these places do makes the risk of having an item returned preferable to interrupting their order/shipping sequence. Just my uninformed opinion.

Along those lines, here's something amusing...

The guitarist whose record I'm currently producing, an old friend of mine, just picked up one of those Oscar Schmidt hollowbodies from ebay. The seller told him he purchased an overstock and just has a bunch of blank boxes with guitars in them. Here's where it gets funny... since if he opened the box to find out what color it was the guitar would have to be sold cheaper as an open item, Brian is in for a surprise when he gets it. The guy won't even look for him.
What do you mean the Bass is too loud???

Yes, Lindsay, the TRC is 2-ply. I have a stand that the bottom moves on, it seems to work just fine, I've had it for a long time. Actually since that pic was taken, I covered the contact points with a white t-thirt that I sacrificed for the cause. Image It has a bolt-on neck, not neck-thru.

It didn't stay on the stand long today...I put the straplocks on and when I went to intonate it, it was PERFECT. My other one, it took a lot of work to get it in the "zone", this one, BOOM. 5 minutes.
I have no complaints with Music123 other than the shipping method, they credited me for the damage and handled it very well. I will order from them again.

Howard, I know I have a Ric on the way, its a strange feeling. I don't know when it is coming, and this one is Soooooo good....It's going to see some serious stage time very soon!! Image It actually sounds BETTER than my other one!

I know what you mean, Steve. My Ricks have taken a bit of a back seat since I got my new Gibson ES335. I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon......

...and beware of friendly tips from Jeff and Dale, who'll tell you that you should paint it with a roller...

Jeff already tried to get me to get the drill out and add another tuner, I told him to step back!
