Steve, it hasn't had strings for 15 years. It had a very high action that I couldn't get along with and always had rotos on it. I finally unstrung it and left it in the case.
Knowing what I know now, I just went back to the UK where the bass is with low tensions, but forgot to take the bridge/saddles with me...Doh!
If you look at the photo's you can see where someone (not me!) routed out the bridge area in order to set the assembly and action lower, then realized they would have to carve out the horseshoe surround up too!
It's a wonder it ever survived...
