Although I have to admit that dealing with Chris Clayton and Mike Parks has been and will still be my number 1 choice.

A Fast Question???

Does Ric have anything other than the Poster for a Catalog?

I would like to have one, in one of my Cases, as I still get a few people asking where can I get one of those!

A few Pics always helps!

May be if we were all equipped with colour catalogues each year, Rickenbacker would realize even more sales from our efforts.

Good literature and positive word of mouth are important components in any marketing effort by a manufacturer or a distributor.

After all those of us that belong to this forum all believe in the product and are great ambassadors.

I suspect that many musicians in Canada have bought from the US. I know I did because my experience with trying to buy guitars and parts in Canada was much the same as others on this forum.

It is a pain to find them here, but I agree that a little more Info would be a real plus!

Funny, the store I bought my 360/12 from, is now going to stock a few. (It's about time!)

Another thing, that I feel hurts a guitar like Rickenbacker here is the GST/PST.

By the time It was all added up, my guitar cost me $1938.00 and some odd amount of Change?

This is no fault of Rickenbacker of course, but It makes it a "big" ticket Item for most people.

Maybe I'm just being stupid? but I feel I should be able to see one at my local music store (when they claim to be a dealer).

I hope my fight was worth it? and we see a few bought in Saskatoon.

I know my next Ric, is going to be a solid body 6 string, too bad the 610 isn't being built anymore. I love the look of that thing!

Wait a minute, I got to pay for the last one first and buy a "dog-house" so I have a place to live! LOL!

I wonder, Is it possible to get a 610/6 built?

I check out buzz, just before I shut things down for the day.

I like your excuse, my missus gave up years ago I've had as many as 20 guitars at a time in the house.

The last couple of years I've started to thin out the ones I don't really need or want etc.

I would like to get this down to about a dozen.

My Missus also can play a little herself and she likes rickenbackers (WHEW!) talk about luck!

You can thank her Mom (who is a guitar player herself)she was a Lap-top picker in her day, but she knew about Rickenbacker, from WAY BACK, when they where making the steel/lap-top units.

Brian, the short term result from more sales would be more waiting, because RIC is at capacity and booked for well over a year with orders.

But, if they manage to be able to increase production, this might make sense for the long-term.

I know Paul, I was quoted up to 14 months for certain products on a factory order basis from L&M.

Grin and put up with it.

Only Rickenbacker can sort this one out for us Canadians.

This is a followup to my May post. At that time I alluded to the fact that there were some discussions which would make instruments more available in Canada. Unfortunately I was not allowed to share those details with you. However, it's now official, so I can finally speak!

Musician's Friend begins operations in Canada during September 2005.

Not every brand will be available but Rickenbacker is one that will be. As near as we can tell, their operation will essentially mimic that of the current U.S. operation, except that they've made arrangements for shipping and return of goods so a customer doesn't have to deal with that.

Their announcement says that while price quotes will be in US dollars, a final quoted price will be in Canadian dollars including GST, PST, duty, and shipping.

Finally, they note that a later phase will offer a French language version of their website, as well as Quebec specific catalogs.

Along a similar line, it's been reported in the press that MF's parent company, Guitar Center, is planning an expansion into the Canadian, European, and Japanese markets in the near future. I have no information other than what's been printed but I predict a major acquisition will be their vehicle into Canada.
