My own third wife is Brasilian, who I fight (with), to save the Americans from invading that country, too.
Does that make any sense?
My friend's parents (who lived through the Camps) would not let him play "Hey Jude" in the house because of the associations for them. (Even tho in German or Yiddish it is pronounced differently...)

Fortunately I speak three languages quite well. They would be in order of preference. English, Canadian and American.
I also speak two languages not very well, but I am trying. French and profanity.
But John, Garlic Ice Cream? What language is that? Some sort of code. Why is it not hyphenated? That's what I want to know.
Any one for cricket?

Not to change this very amusing topic but Paul can you look up my post under Guitars - Legend Guitar Polish and give me your thoughts. I know that you are quite up on such things.
Thanks mate ----- er Paul. Dont want to start another rant.

Brian, I saw the post, but I reserved comments because I believe that everyone has their favorites, and there are literally hundreds of products on the market for this purpose, although they all fit into a very few basic categories.
It seems sometimes that everybody who has any kind of a name in music or guitars is making his/her own polish, or endorsing somebody elses's. But there is really little new under the sun.
Legend removes stuff like tobacco staining and general corner grunge because it has a solvent in it. (When it says, "flammable!" on the label, it has a solvent. I suspect naphtha in this case.).
Personally, I would use naphtha and a toothbrush to remove grunge, followed by a clean soft cotton cloth to remove all the mess, and then I'd follow with Scratch-X if it needed brilliant polishing, and Zymol to protect it.

Thanks Paul,
That is very helpful. My Ric guitars are JG as you probably know (except my bass which is white) and they show scratches very easily. So I was looking for a solution. Now I have it.

People with double-whammy names over here are often simply referred to as "the hyphen". Perceptions of social superiority disappeared years ago unless the bearer lived in a so-called 'posh' suburb.
I think the fact that there have been one or two 'thug' footballers with hyphenated names helped to accelerate the process!

Hmmm. I'm at a loss for words, except I've tried the garlic ice cream and it is delicious for a change, but as an everyday thing it would cause me to lose the few friends who still stick around when their masters are flying kites on the other end of the park where I sleep under the bench when the warmer weather permits, but when it's cold...

And I thought I had seen everything when they invented hot ice cream. I'll take your word for it John. Its not something that would tempt my palate.

It may not be perfect grammar Paul but hopefully you can make sense of what is being said.

Kevin, I really don't know how I got drawn into this gentle banter. I'm not even hyphenated, or carbonated, if you know what I mean?
Anyway we can thank John for getting the ball rolling. It is a great topic to have some good clean fun with our friends in America.
