Are Your Ricks Registered?

I just realized that my latest purchase put me into the exclusive club for folks with more than (10) Rickenbackers. Do you have all of your Ricks registered? Just wondering...

Hey, welcome to the Club! All of mine are registered.... That's 12 Rics, 13 if you count my Electro, which is almost a Ric.

Melissa: One of mine is a '64 ES-16 Electro JG, and I always count it as a Rick. So yes, you do indeed have (13) Ricks. Don't you feel a bit guilty? No, I don't either!

What's the point of registering your Ricks? If it has to do with warranty issues, RIC has the worst warranty policy on the planet.

I won't be able to formulate my own opinion on that, Webhead. RIC's warranty doesn't extend to outside the USA - the local distributor has to wear that.

You've obviously had an unsatisfactory experience.

Don: The point of registering your Rick on this website is to build a database of information on models, finishes, etc that might be of interest to collectors and others. It's easy and only takes a few minutes.

I don't have any experience with RIC's warranty policy, as I have never mailed in a warranty card or had a problem with any new instruments that I've purchased. My only problems have involved necks on guitars built nearly forty years ago.

Don, that's the most obstinately one-sided post I've read on this issue in awhile.

RIC takes care of their customers. There are a lot of chiselers involved in the guitar hobby/business and their policy and personal approach to it keeps the chiselers at bay.

If you read the warranty carefully, it is very fair; possibly the only thing it does that is a bit odd is that it assumes that the people who purchase its products have the ability to think like adults, unlike the other manufacturers who have lapdog warranties.

I Had "mixed" feelings about how Ric delt with Canada (dealers, Not be able to find a Ric, etc), but when I found this forum, not only did I get help from the members, but Mr Hall (The "Boss Man-CEO") Himself Post a reponse to my problem.

I belive you would have to look pretty hard to find a Guitar manufacturer that Has More pride and History than this one.

I think this might be because, Mr Hall is running a family Business.

Take a look sometime, at the old photos of Mr Hall's Father holding the Guitars from the 50's and 60's, you can see the pride in his eyes.

The pride of the workers, who built these guitars can be seen in the photos taken of them, as well.

I also see that same pride in my face, in photos of me playing these guitars

I'm really sorry to see a post like that, but stick around you might be surpised at how much these folks do care.

I never had a problem with my 9 year old 330/6, in fact I've never even had a major set-up done yet (just minor adjustments) and I just used it in the studio today!

I know when I play my RIC'S, I think the Guitars speak for the People that make them and tells the story of History and Pride with every single note that comes out of them.

Ya know, I've registered my Rics on here and I've never seen any evidence as to their registration. However, I would not be surprised to find out that it is quite a task to keep up with the number of people who do register their Rics here. Is this statement not to far off the truth, Peter?
