Well, we do amp and obviously Ric bass pic threads all of the time but how about some effects? Post 'em if you got 'em!
Here is my most recent mess.....

Signal chain.....
Fulltone Bass-Drive
Boss Hyper Metal
Boss Bass Chorus
Boss Bass Chorus
Boss Compression/Sustainer
Morley Bass Wah
EBS Bass IQ (Triple Envelope Filter)...undecided on where it sounds best in the chain so it isn't permanently mounted yet.
All powered by a Dunlop DC-Brick

The Bass-Drive and 1st chorus are on most of the time. The Fulltone is run with 18 volts which sounds even better than when used at 9 volts (per Fulltone it is recommended to try it and that it can handle it). It has a nice natural sounding mellow overdrive at lower settings and screams pretty good when the boost setting is activated. The Hyper Metal comes into play when I need screeching feedback distortion.....which is rare but necessary at times

. The 1st chorus is real subtle and just mildly thickens the tone......the 2nd one has a more traditional chorus vibe. The compressor is pretty so-so but does a good job of levelling the signal when I'm cranking the distortion and using the Wah. The Wah is self explanatory and works great. The EBS is an excellent filter effect....I just need to find where it fits in best in my chain.
Now I just need to find a good deal on an EBS Octave pedal and I'm done.....

I have used lots of effects over the years but these days it is down to just an Aphex Punch Factory.

I am considering a Demeter Tremulator as I love tremolo for bass, don't know where I got that idea from!

Fuzz bass anyone? Loved it since I heard "The Word" and Vanilla Fudge's "Some Velvet Morning." When I ran effects years ago, I used a Mutron III, Mutron Phaser, Maestro Bass Brassmaster(also used by Chris Squire), some kind of vibrato pedal whose name I have forgotten, a Morley Power Wah Fuzz/Volume and Moog Taurus Pedals (both models, but not at the same time). These days I run a Boss Bass Chorus, Ernie Ball Volume and a Dr. Q envelope filter. Not much call for fuzz in church music these days.

I love the Taurus pedals....I haven't seen that setup in some time.....pretty cool! I was always curious about that VOX unit as well.....just never got around to trying it out.....I guess I will have to now. I have always been left wanting more when I try multi-fx units that is why I went back to stomp boxes. The biggest killer for me is getting a good wah that interacts well with the overdrive/distortion in the all-in-one units. How is that with the VOX? Has anyone tried the new Bass Pod XT Live?

I love the VOX box. It is so versatile. The programming is very easy. I do not use the wawa effect with distortion, but it is capable to do so. The rectifier tube gives everything a warm sound. It has amp head and speaker cabinet modeling that is mind blowing. The best part about it is the expression pedal, when used with the roto/phase sounds. You can really get some great slow/down speed/up effects (like a leslie). It even has a tuner built in to it.

I like the Bass POD, too. I run my 4003 in manual mode through the 'Flip-Top' amp model and 'Bypass' the effects (add them in post-prod, if needed). EQ: bass at 4 o'clock, mids at 10 o'clock and treble at 4 o'clock. I get a terrific 'Rick growl' on recordings with that setting when using roundwounds.

Sometimes a SansAmp bass driver, a cheap compressor and a Companion fuzz (70's Japanese made). On record I also occasionally use some tremolo.
