Don't schedule a confluence just yet... let me get my hands on it first, fellas! Once I've had a chance to get to know it better(Image), I'll post impressions and pics.

Well... sad to report that I won't be getting the bass after all.Image

For some odd reason, the seller said they didn't receive my Cashiers Check until the day after their "payment must be received in 7 days" deadline! I have never had a payment take more than 3 days to be delivered via USPS. Never.

And even though the seller made it seem as though they still had the bass... and the check in hand... they felt compelled to stick to their "7 day" policy!Image

So bottom line? *sob* No FG V63 for me!

I guess when I get my Cashiers Check back, I'll be placing an order for a brand new C64S! Anyone care to recommend a dealer who I can work with?

Anyone care to point me in the direction of a C64S that's already in stock somewhere?Image

Musician's Friend has one in stock for around $2400, but that's high.

I've been thinking about one as well. the lowest price I saw was from North Coast Music at $1989 but, not in stock. I believe most places are around $2100-2200.

My feeling on the v63 however, is the guy is playing games. If you sent it UPS, can't you trace it? I wouldn't let an idiot like that get away with this.

What an A-h*le! Are you kidding me? He aced you out of it because of your check being a day late? You really should file a complaint with Ebay AND leave him bad feedback.

Alvaro,

This guy is totally out of order. There must be a way to get 'your' bass. I guess if he has been offered more for it, you might be on trick ground. If you could track that cheque though it would tell you if the guy is full of BS or not.

Sorry to hear the grim news.....

You might be better off without dealing with a scammer like that. And you are right, it would never take that long for the payment to arive. He was probably unhappy that the price didn't go higher, when the price was probably right because of the finish nicks. It sure looks like he held the check. Also, I can't seem to find anything about his policy of payment within 7 days.

A good policy when purchasing a large ticket item is to send the payment via registered mail. The date and signature is returned to you, as well as date of contact if the 1st delivery fails.

You got ripped off. Unless he specified 7 days in an e-mail, then he's got nothing to come back at you. That's why I use Paypal whenever it's offered since there is an audit trail.

Bob Scott has a good source. He recently ordered a c4s, he can point you at his source.

I agree withthe others, your seller is out of line, and if it were me (and a Fireglo v63 at stake) I'd complain to Ebay, Andrew is right, I think he took cold feet over the sale and used the late cheque as an excuse.

What a jack%$* ! I certainly wouldn't deal with him. Let's see if he re-lists this thing and if he does, I hope nobody bids on it -- but they will.
Is everybody ready?

If he relists it, we can always notify potential bidders of high payment policy. And leaving negative feedback describing the issue could raise some questions.

If I gotta send a check, I use certified or at least delivery confirmation.

Since that check went through the mail, makes a case for "wire fraud" as leverage.

Well, the Cashiers' Check is safely back in my hands. The seller decided to spend $16 postage sending more than $2K back to me, instead of sending me the bass... but all's well that ends well, eh? Image

Now I'm just gonna turn right around and order that C64S...

...but where from?

$1980 delivered?!?!?

Wow! (but what does "not live" mean?)

I'm assuming (which is a dangerous thing to do, I'm told...) that "delivered" means "including shipping".

That's gonna be hard to beat, but does anyone else have any happy tales to offer of "unbeatable service" or "service with a smile" from anywhere else? That kind of stuff can be a deal-maker sometimes!Image
