Dumb Question but where is the serial #?

Where is the serial # located on a Rickenbacker guitar? I thought that the numbers on the jack plate was it but I didn't know forsure!

The Jack plate is where the number is located.

K I thought so. I realized I had a Brain fart when I first looked at the jack plate i thought it said "08xxxxx" but it was really "03xxxxx"! that's why i asked cuz i got confused with the 08! o well learn from the mistakes

On the 450's, the serial no is stamped on the bridge...

Hi Bob,

John Hall mentioned (someplace) that new instruments would use new identification technolgy. Although I don't remember if he was explicit about what, I had the impression he might have been embedding an RFI chip someplace in the neck or body.

Possibly...in the vernacular, "sn*gging" precedes "sh*gging".

So it's sort of a step-by-step thang, and he could've been on an early step.
