And Your Bird Can Sing

Post by 325_fan »

Did you ever try to play AYBCS on a 360/12, capo on the 2nd fret, and using the "D" chord? I tried it and can practically play both parts on one guitar.

I'll have to give that a try!

George Harrison's lead to AYBCS sounds heavily George Martin influenced to me.

( I love that bubbling bass ending to the song )

I was doing it last night with the capo on the 2nd fret and playing in the "D" key. I dropped the low "E" to "D" and tried it. That's even closer. It's a little hard when it comes to the F#m part but it's doable.

Larry if you played with the capo on the second fret, in D...the chorus is

F#m==============F#m(maj7)
When your prized possesions
F#m7============B7
Start to weigh you down
D===========Em========A
Look in my direction, I'll be 'round

Then back to D

Give it a shot, works for me

Barre at second fret, one finger at fourth fret on A and and another at the fourth fret on D, lift to the third fret ond D and then to an F#m7. It's a natural progression, All of this is done with the capo on the second fret.

In other words it's F#m, Fmmaj7 and F#m 7

Gotcha, Stan. But I'm sitting here, trying to barre my second fret but there's a capo on there already...

Oh, I get it.

Most enjoyable is the so-called "jewel" tuning. No matter which chord variation you enter, it gives you an open-tuned CM chord. Ha!
