Lyle races Ducatis, too, and that's very cool. A Texan who races Eyetalian murdercycles.

Howard: I'm a Texan who owns several old Vespa scooters. Not as fast (but fast enough for me), but lots of fun. And as far as racing, I prefer four-wheeled vehicles. I'm currently racing a '62 MG Midget. And just for the record, I've never been married to Julia Roberts...

Well Randy, that's one headache you'll never have! (Julia, that is....).

My brother has a couple of Lambrettas that he uses to go shopping and do the Sunday cruise down the esplanade...... great fun!!

A great choice for racing, the Midget. An old friend of mine used to race an MG Magnette - a heavily worked 1800 donk - used to go like the clappers!!

Until he spun out and t-boned his sponsor's double-decker bus....... sorta ended his racing aspirations.... and the Magnette!!

Howard: Yes, the MG Midget is a great entry level car for vintage sportscar racing (great handling and cheap spares). I've raced Midgets for several years. My club races on road courses at Texas World Speedway in College Station and Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Oklahoma. I try to do a road trip every year to a national event, and have raced at Virginia International Raceway and Road Atlanta. My racing competition generally includes a bunch of Midgets, Austin-Healey Sprites, Mini Coopers, and Triumph Spitfires. We have as many as forty cars in a race group, making it true wheel-to-wheel racing. Lots of fun!

Randy/Howard,

This is my recently acquired baby undergoing some minor repairs last fall. She's a 1975 MGB. Not quite as high on my list as my Rics but pretty close to my heart.

Brian: Very nice. My street-worthy MG is a '72 MGB. I also have a '69 MGC project car in addition to the '62 Midget racer. I have been very active in the Texas MG Register for many years. We have a website at www.tmgr.org

Yeh as you know Randy they are a labour of love.

We have a club here in the Okanagan too. They hold tours, shows, meets etc. Lots of fun in the sun. It's fun to drive "topless" LOL

You guys are really fortunate to have those. Good ones out here are bloody expensive!.

The only time I ever drove one was in the early 70s when I was working for Philips and I had to pick one up from the docks and deliver it to our R&D division for radio fitment evaluation. As I recall, it was BRG and I really enjoyed it!!
