Why walnut? Because it's absolutely gorgeous, that's why.

Also, as a side note, aren't the wings on the CS model African Vermillion or something? They're still beautiful, though.

One of the last Standard 4001's to have walnut wings. Sept '71. Does anyone know when the cut off was? All of the '72's that I've seen have the walnut stripe and maple wings.

Bobcat is right,

The CS's wings are not walnut.

Joey, they look like two beauties! I can’t believe my Cii 5 missed the cutoff date and it was order one day after your TR.

Andy, if you remember Brad Farha (Banta)...he used to post here...he ordered a mapleglo just an hour after I ordered my trans red, he didn't get his either.
Brad recently visited me (last weekend).
Here we are playing my 4004/5Cii basses (he's on the left):

He loved them, he was sorry he didn't take Chris Claytons offering of this one to him. This was actually the one Chris ordered for store stock well before we ordered ours. Brad didn't see the figure in the wood in Chris's photo. So he passed on it, hoping for a more radically figured top. He saw the wood figure in person.
Brad is an awesome, great person, I wish he lived much closer to me (he's in West Virginia). I also wish he didn't stop posting here.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)
