I have tried TI's on my Rickenbacker six string but never on my 12 strings. I find them very comfortable and of low tension which makes them easy to play. In my experience, however, they did not have the chime of the RIC strings or the Pyramids.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I'm running TIs on my 381 6-string. I like the feel and the smooth tonal transitions. A 381 doesn't have to jangle for me. But my 12 will keep its Rick set for awhile.
The Shorty (see 4 am thread) will get Rick shorty 12s as soon as the beauty shop is finished with it. Right now it's running some OLD light-gauge generics. C'n you believe it?

I had TI make me up a custom 12 set for my Rick a few years back, based on the given guages of the old Rick/Maxima flats.Short answer[in my experience] TIs Felt great, but did Not deliver the goods.Pyramids are as close to old Maximas in tone as anything I've found.I know JH has said the construction methods of Maximas vs Pyramids is a different deal. but your ears only care how it sounds, not how they are made.A shame there are not any more Maximas to be had, but as JH says, "ancient history".Never used TIs on any other guitars, though a couple buddies use them on their jazz guitars and love them.I use them[flats again] on my old 60s Guild bass, and love them, though I wish they came in a heavier guage for short scale bass.
Just ordered a set of TI JR 344 from Juststrings.
Ilan has them on his Shadow and 73 4001 and they feel terrific - nice low tension. They will be strung on my C64 for a "test".
Don, you are right, I wish they came in a heavier guage too.

On Ric 12 stringers I believe only in Ric strings - have tried others and nothing else works as they do.
