My take: its your bass-ya do what you want.

Irreversible mods will get you only when you sell. Who cares if you put a mud-bucker pick-ups on your '68 4001? WE DO, but it's your bass.

I don't play my 4004LK, I get **** for it-but it's my bass.

I put horseslippers on my 4003S/8, crass, but I like it.

Just my 5 cents worth...

"Would a rare, vintage instrument see alot of gigs or practices?"

Yes, my '76 4005WB gets gigged quite often.

I put a V63 horseshoe in my '73 4001, but that can be reversed easily.

"Would a rare, vintage instrument see alot of gigs or practices? Not likely."

I'm with you Jeff !

My 4004LK may not be vintage yet but it will be....I'd also classify it as very rare and it gets gigged when I do Image!

Jared....as far as you not playing your LK......more power to ya'. I can't do it and I don't understand it but it is yours to do with as you wish. Just please think of me if you ever part with it so I can bring it to the darkside Image......
