Thirteen years ago I visited a pawnbrokers in Adelaide, South Australia with the intention of buying a colour TV. I walked out with my first Rickenbacker, a 360-12WB Fireglo with toasters for $350 (Aussie dollars - about US$300). I ended up selling the guitar for about $700 a year later to pay for...wait for it....instant turf for my back yard!
The instant turf didn't like my dog p*ssing on it, so it ended up dead. I've had four houses since then. Now I have ten Rickenbackers to make up for the "one that got away"!
