Bill Y. (et al), there is a cadence called by army drill sargeants that makes reference to the short belt on the WWII "Ike" jacket, and the need for securing it to prevent an evocative swinging motion whilst marching, to wit:

"Don't let your Dingle Dangle dangle in the dirt;
Pick up your Dingle Dangle, tie it to your shirt."

(My apologies, JJ, but it's true...)

You WOULD, Dane...

Dane, I am sitting here LOL, good story. I sang a few of those songs myself but never that one.

Paul, great solution. I love the looks of the the Accent and use the vibrato a lot. Currently I only (cryin' out loud) have a CW 12-string Ric. In the near future I will be looking to add a 6-string Ric. It will most definitely either have the Accent already or one will be installed. I am glad to see there's a good fix for the loosening problem. Now that I think about it, the washer was flat. I got it (325v63) with the arm in the case compartment and no washer. I went to the hardware store and got a flat one. In fact, that didn't work very good so I tried a few others with limited success but never the right one. I also was using the coin method Melissa; not fun though.

Since the 325v63 has found a new home, I have done the same kind of fix on my Bigsby equipped Gretsch RHH (tip I got on GDPs) except I didn't change any hardware; used locktite, tightened as needed and now the Bigsby stays tight with no "slop".

Both the arm and the washer are available as separate parts from the Rickenbacker Page. Arm $30.00, washer .75. Note that the new arms are not exactly like older ones, as noted previously in this Forum by John Hall.

Is there any way of adjusting (lowering) the height /angle between the Accent VB and the bridge? I had one on my 1997 and thought it worked great (just as good as a bigsby and cooler looking) when I was using heavier strings, but with .10s (flatwounds) it seems that to get the bridge to work I have to raise the bridge height up to the point of losing the upper fret low action that can be achieved with the trapeze. Mike Parks told me the Accent could be adjusted but I can't figure out how other than to flatten the curvature of the rounded piece which I've haven't wanted to try. Has anyone else had this problem?
