At least the poster is honest enough to say it's a faker. Someone who didn't know better could get royally ripped on this item as a genuine 72 4001.

Won't last the day untill it's killed, especially with the TRC.

As Wes is correct and it's probably going to disappear, here's a few pictures of it. Cleaned up a bit, this bass could fool quite a few people.

Yeah, that is indeed an impressive fake! Looks like the MOP inlays go all the way across, too, along with the checkered binding, the placement of the neck pickup, the thumbrest (but not a clear one)...can't tell if the bridge is split or not from these pics....
4005's are the best!

The fretboard is what gave it away for me, it looks really dark.

The tuners are a giveaway really. Some 60's basses had real dark fretboards. It is one of the better fakers. That binding could fool a lot of people. 'Cept us...

Without a doubt.

Steve nailed it, fretboard is far too dark. Where's the '72 toaster, too?

Ibanez did make the best fakers, by far. Some of them are actually really good basses. Played a few.

Absolutely! You've been duped! Take the TRC off that pretender and sell it to me for what you paid for it immediately!
