Howard,

Strangely enough, Meddy's People actually made a number of television appearances in Canada. A couple nationally televised events and a number of local appearances.

We were'nt exactly the Monkees mind you in any sense. We were a lot more like the Who. We were a pretty heavy rock band for our day. Not a band that you would build a musical sitcom around. Maybe if they had reality TV back then they would have found us very interesting. LOL

Pegasus though was the result of personal musical evolution. That band was more cutting edge in many respects.

There were only three of us and we relied on the bass and drums to create an interesting interplay with bluesy rock guitar playing and vocals. Unfortunately my singing has been compared to Jack Bruce and my guitar playing to Claptons very often throughout my music career. Probably one of the reasons that we did not quite click was that I sounded too much like them. It was never my intent to emulate them. Sometimes that's just how it is.

Listen to Gary Moore for example. He uses Clapton's, 60's "woman tone" in a much better way than Clapton ever did in my books. But then again, others may differ in opinion. There are some die hard "Clapton is god" fans out there that would consider my opinion in that matter to be blasphemy.

Yeh Kent, we started off with three mods and a redneck. We ended up as four rednecks. LOL

Clapton is God? My religion espouses the worship of many gods - Hendrix, Clapton, Gilmour, Vai, Moore, etc.......... not limited to guitarists, either - Johnnie Johnson for instance!

Yeh Howard,

I like your taste in G men. You have to add SRV to that list as well as Jeff Beck, EVH, Jimmy Page, Rory Gallagher and you are right the list would be huge. I did not even mention my fav bass players. We could write for days. LOL

Further to my previous post, there is nothing better than to see a woman play guitar well. Bonnie Rait for example. She rocks my plimsolls

Mmmmmmm..... Bonnie Rait - oh yeah!

I just plucked a few out of thin air, Brian. A definitive list would be pages long and open to all sorts of argument. Not to mention a list of great Aussies.

I could add some non-rockers like Al Dimeola, Lee Ritenour, etc.

And Aitche's foot.

Aitche's Foot Paul? Its not on my list. That must be a new release. LOL

Howard you should get a check up. That's an obsession you've got going on there.

The ol' blue slipper sneaks in again!

There are a number of holes in the collection, Brian and Paul. They're usually only available as imports here - Dimeola is considered 'obscure' by the mainstream music stores. It's been a while since I've had another serious look around....... maybe in a month or so when the footy season is over!!

It's a relatively inexpensive obsession, Brian. Compare it to my 'Rickaholism'!!

Think I've got terminal thread drift.......
