Recently I joined a group called britishmania as a Right Handed Paul, but last week I made the switch (quite easily I might add) to left-handed. Convineently I had heard that Ricky Vacca of Beatlemania Now (my brother's group) had sold his lefty hofner to pick of the ricks....so I went and got it this morning. And in my oppinion it is the nicest playing sounding feeling bass I have ever felt in my life. LOVE IT. for pictures goto www.beatlemanianow.com Ricky moved to florida and is going into the ministry. Anyone wanna help find out what year this thing is from?

Seriously though, can you still sing playing left handed? That must be hard enough just switching hands.

I have always admired bass players who can sing and play period. Your brains must be wired differently. In a good way!

lol, yea, singings fine. But it seems that Ricky may have worn any fret markers there may have been off the top of the neck, so I have to find a way to be on correct fret.

Switching to left hand.... and easily???? Wow.... Alex, you DA MAN. Got any pix of "britishmania"?

Here's a question... Although I can imagine doing either, I would think that a right-left switch would be a lot harder for a guitar player than a bass player... eh?

ah, done. I was a Righty lead guitarist in my band the roadrunners, and then i was righty bass for a while in britishmania....but then I made the switch to left handedness. For me, it wasnt hard putting my fingers on the notes, but doing stretches of the fingers was difficult. also picking. I suggest starting off learning with the thumb and then switching to pick

I had a friend who switched from left- to right-handed...unfortunately, this came as a result of rolling his car and being ejected through the driver's side window...

His singing was unimproved...

The IRS (U.S. tax bureau) reports that there are 10,000 professional Elvis imitators working here...any idea how many Beatles bands there are out there? And what do they do when they run into each other in hotel lobbies?

I thought about becoming a 'Ringo', but I couldn't get the nose to stay on under hot stage lights...

I saw Ricky Vacca MANY times when he played around NYC in Strawberry Fields and I was always amazed by the guy...not just his performance, which most nights was spot on, but his intensity....I remember seeing SF at the Rock-n-Roll Cafe in front of about 20 people and he was apologizing the whole night for very minor things in the set list, flubbed notes - all very minor stuff.....he's awesome.

I wish him well and am sad I didn't get to see him one more time, under the mop.

Wonder how long he had that Hof.

No offense Michael, but most people don't even notice mistakes unless you point them out except other musicians, I think the worst thing you can do after you make a mistake is to call attention to it unless it's a very obvious clam that REALLY sticks out.

yea, but when theres 20 people there and 10 of those people are your own family....I dont think you have to worry about reputations

Well you got me there I guess, haha!

I know one thing the less people there are in a club the better the band should play and it's usually the opposite (I'm just rambling here Alex nothing to do with your buddy's band). That's the mark of a good band to me, can it play for three people and make them enjoy themselves?
