'75 fretless w/ weird bridge on the bay
This '75 4001 fretless has what looks to be a Hipshot replacement bridge, but the seller says it has been on the bass for about ten years!? Was someone else making replacement bridges back then?

Thanks Jeff. I've been thinking about the Hipshot for my '75. Original was rusty(hence the handle). Put on an Allpart one, then got a used Rickenbacker one with less rust. I just can't get the soapstone bridge parts to move enough for proper intonation(This may also be problem w/ my neck). Looks like the Hipshot would solve this.
Who was making that other replacement bridge on that ebay fretless, I wonder…

That SKUNK STRIPE COULD BE A WHOLE OTHER THREAD,in my opinion i think the skunk stripe is uglier than s___t.I bought a 4001 in 77 brand new, of course it had that ugly *** skunk stripe, i was thinking back then what were they thinking.See there are two very different opinions to that thing down the middle.[yuck]

I'm not so sure it's a S.G. bridge, as i thought that they were smaller and more trapezoidal shaped.. i could be wrong.
I've seen one like it as well, but chromed..
Check out the first pic: i think it's the same bridge..

Would love to have one of those bridges, that's for sure!
