Great deals still out there...

I bought a '68 Tenny for $350 because, as the seller said, "the bridge keeps falling off and needs to be reglued". Of course, there were no strings on the guitar at the time. It was one of the finest '68s you'll ever see, in actuality.
Also:
1964 1997, $1000
1965 360/12, $925
1982 4002, $800
1994 4001V63, $575
1992 4003 MG BT, $250
1987 1993 12-string reissue, $925
*sigh* I wish I still had the 1997. That was stupid.

Get out your barf bags, this one's gonna hurt...
8 brand new in the box, never opened, still sealed with the original factory staples, 1968 360-12s in FireGlow. This was back when the guitars were wrapped in butcher paper before they were placed in their cases. I witnessed one being opened by it's new owner, and I can tell you it was a near religious experience...
We bought them for $500 each in the early 1990s from Phillips Music in East L.A. At the time they had Gibson Super 400s, Vox Beatle amps, and other amazing instruments and amps still new in the sealed boxes from the 1960s. They were selling them, to those of us lucky enough to know what we were looking at, for their original list price. (They long ago sold anything worthwhile, and changed ownership.)
I wish I'd kept one of those Ricks.

I wish you'd filmed the whole thing. It would have blown the heck out of Geraldo's opening of Al Capone's vault...even if there had been something in the vault...
“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”

My best deal was in 1985, traded a CGA color computer monitor ($185 CDN) for a 1969 LP Deluxe Goldtop. Still have that baby.
Second best deal, my FG 660/12 in 2005. At just about any recent price, this guitar is a steal.

Never, ever drool on your surf shirt. It wrecks the solo.
