Hmm, I rather think there's a few candidates for "worst judge of musical innovation and quality to walk the planet" here

Doesn't that song go..."every rose has it's thorn, just like every day has it's dawn.."? If I remember correctly from the one time I listened to it without shutting it off, that's the rhyme. Pretty bad rhyme.

How can you put down Foreigner? I guess I am biased, coming from Rochester, but come on... they were a great band! And it goes "every NIGHT has its dawn."
"Here he is, come to pay homage to the Rickenbacker display!" (Said to me by owner Bruce at the "Great House of Guitars" in Rochester, NY)

I sit corrected...but it's still the thorn-dawn thing that got me. He kinda sang "dawn" in what sounded like an embarrassed mumble, and like he was trying to force the two words to rhyme.
Most of the above mentioned (and many others) got me to stop listening to the mainstream and corporate radio...so I suppose I owe them a big thank you. Foreigner did a big ballad in the '80's, "I Want To Know What Love Is". I did like that, especially that big gospel choir.

All of the above (except for SK and SK) are why I became a huge REM fan in the eighties. About the only commercial "arena" band from that era that I can stomach is Rush. Coincidence? Methinks not.

Apologies. The radio station which announced this and the subsequent playlist/newsletter sent out contained the wrong information, which I passed on to this forum. Shonen Knife support drummer (2001-2004) Mana "China" Nishiura was tragically killed in an auto accident while touring with her band. Nov. 4. Still a sad event. Again, apologies for passing on the wrong info. www.shonenknife.com has more on this.
