Good price on a V63 McCartney?

Post by revolver323 »

What should one expect to pay for a V63 McCartney now that they're discontinued?

I see them between $1600 to $2000.00, based on condition.

Well I don't know about "expected" prices... but the BIN price on this one is fairly "unexpected":

My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

The last PMC that was on ebay went for over $2K.

The bass that Music Ground has on ebay isn't a PMC, it's just a lefty V63, and WAY overpriced..

It's amazing how Ric guitars and basses have gone up in value through the years. When I bought my first, a 4001MG in 1977, I got it used for $350. It was in excellent condition too. Now those basses are around $1000 now. I guess it's the vintage thing nowadays. I should have held on to mine. Even though I have two Rics now and a third on order, that first one was kind of special.
I recently went back to playing a Rickenbacker bass. Its like meeting an old friend again
