Can anyone tell what color it is ,might be burgandy ,look at the back of the neck.

Its definitely fireglo. Look at the pics of the headstock, you can see the lighter color of the burst fairly clearly. You can even see it on the body.

Apart from my bass that's only the second FG one I have seen with the early features. A bit of wear, but all there and the original case too is a nice touch.
You need good pix of the fretboard to see if there is any wear from rounds. I could be tempted to give my 73 a companion...

Hi all--
I am selling the 72 fretless on ebay. The pics were terrible, so I ended early and took some better pics. Auction will restart tonight (8/10) at 7PM Pacific. I am not a Ric expert, so I would appreciate any comments. Thanks!

Aric,how things work here we list the bass for sale to forum members here if you cant find a home for it then put it on ebay,let these guys know what you want for it,it might be quicker and easier.

You've got a very rare Rick. Should go for good money, I would think somewhere between $1500 -$2000. Depends on the condition, originality of parts, and especially the fretboard condition, if it's been chewed up by round wound strings at some point in it's life.

Welcome Aric. As I mentioned earlier, it is a very clean old fretless that is certainly rare. They are an acquired taste, but there will be interest in it for sure. You probably need to show a picture of the fingerboard for wear, and apart from that, good luck!

Thanks, y'all. There is some fingerboard wear under the E string, the new pics will show it, and the description mentions it. I also have his 74 4001 Mapleglo fretted I will be selling, and I will offer it here first! (As much as I would like to keep it...) BTW, that bass needs an E string tuning machine (wavy Grover), anyone here have a spare I could buy?

Strong Rickenbacker magic. The '74 4001 sounds very interesting too, Aric. Put up some pics of it when you can, please. As for the wavy Grover tuner, sorry, but I can't help you.
