330 and 360 body shapes confusing to a new guy
My Ric knowledge is limited to the basic catalog models. Looking at the photos you guys post from older guitars I get confused. Just when I think I know what a 360 looks like, I see a 330 body with a 360 neck. Was the current basic 330 shape the original shape? I like the 330 body with the 360 neck inlay.
Gerry, you may be confusing the Old Style 360's with the 330's. The OS 360 WB looks similar to a 330 cut as opposed to the current 360 models. The OS 360's (or the 360 V's) have the inlays.

The 330 shape was basicaly the original shape & the 360 was the same, only with deluxe appointments (binding, neck inlays etc). In 1964, the 360 shape was changed to the curved model we know today, whilst the 330 remained the original shape.
Since then, re-issues have been made, some accurate (360V64), some very accurate (360C63) & others less so (360WB...with binding, sometimes referred to as OS...old style) with the original body shape, but with deluxe appointments.
Not a definitive guide, but I hope this helps Gerry.

'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.
