Paul, I was in SF for a couple of weeks visiting my mother. God I forgot how flippin' cold and foggy it is there. Keep that gear stowed properly.

The pic of JH holding soon to be Lennon's 325/12 just blows me away. It's not "...here's the guitar that he used on..." It's "...here's the guitar that he'll soon use to play (or write) Ticket To Ride, Every Little Thing..." That angle just awes me.

Bri, next time you're in SF give me a holler and I'll demonstrate the local concept of "microclimates".

I work in the city and live about 10 miles north, in Marin County. I cross the Golden Gate bridge twice a day. Just north of the bridge is the so-called "Waldo Tunnel" Heading north in the evening this time of year, I encounter a stiff sidewind as the fog blows over the hill to enter the Bay. I pass through the tunnel and within minutes, it's sunny and warm. There is often a 15 degree difference in temperature between the city and the 'burbs north and south. And were I (Hera forbid) to live in the East Bay, I would be looking at an even greater temperature diff, not to mention a two-hour commute.

It's the only city I've ever lived in where a convertible makes real sense. Everybody thinks LA is "the" convertible city, but it's too darned hot most of the year to have the top down and the sun beating on your head, unless posing is your thing.

Try 84 from Woodside to Half Moon Bay.....
Talk about micro climates.....I have seen it raining in that canyon when the sun was shining o the Peninsula and on the coast (LOVE IT)
