Has anyone ever played the slanted fret models? John Hall said that they were received with indifference so they discontinued them.
How did it play? Good/bad idea?

The original thinking on these slanted fret thingies, is that, when you first grab a neck, and just very casually lay your fingers in position to play, particularly like a bar chord, your forefinger sort of naturally Doesn't want to align itself parallel with the frets, so it's not really uncomfortable, just kinda weird.
I got a chance to play a 68 SF 360 a few years ago. It worked pretty well. Well enough that you'd get really used to it quickly. I have no feeling in my pinky fingertip and I was still able to play leads on it and do chords barre and otherwise. I play a 360 wb and I spent more time getting used to playing the rounded face of the regular 360 seated without a strap and not have it fling of my lap. The slanted frets went largely unnoticed from what I heard and they cost a bit more to make so they got dropped.
