The Edit section somehow wouldn't let me edit a mistaken URL.

I never went to high school...... therefore no girlfriend! Maybe just as well, if that's any indication, Paul.

The hat's pretty bloody ordinary, too.........

And a real nice description, too...

I feel an anecdote coming on:

Brasil's most popular late night talk show host is a wonderful character named Jo Soares. He's quite XXXL, has a Beatles haircut, wears Harry Potter glasses, is maybe 55, speaks seven languages, writes murder mysteries, sells his own brand of cigars, and plays a lot of different instruments. He also had a Benny Hill-type of burlesque comedy show on GLOBO network in the '70s.

He interviews guests in their native tongues, and when this happens, Portuguese subtitles roll on the bottom of the screen, CNN-style.

He interviewed Aaron Neville late one night, speaking with him in English. Aaron walked out, and Jo exclaimed as Aaron took his chair, "You are one badass motherf****r!!!". I sprayed my drink all over the screen, not accustomed to hearing American profanity for quite awhile, especially from such a refined character.

Aaron laughed his a** off, same reason, I guess...

The Portuguese translation said something to the effect of Aaron "looking like a gangster".

Time to put your thinking cap on Paul. Fedora, Ball-cap, Lennon hat, beret, visor? The adventures of Tom Txxxxxxx?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Aitch, you are very handsome, although the picture was too small to see if your teeth were green or amber.

Who's the bloke in the beret in the larger picture?

Ironically, I thought for years that Wilfred Bramble was the epitome of the Old Man, especially in HDN. Then, when I lost my hair in '83, got my National Health (Harry Potter) glasses in '88, and looked into the mirror, there he was staring back at me. Wilfred died in '89, leaving me holding the bag.

As my older friend Victor Meldrew was known to say: "I don't beleeeeve it."

Now the thread
is truly dead.

Requiescat in pace.
