My bet is he's out the back working on one of his many projects. I think I can hear a compressor whirring away.....
Either that or he's totally exhausted and has crashed for the night!!
I think your suggestion of torture has some foundation, however.........

OK, guys, here's the gig:
I finished the paint yesterday, except for the second coat on the fretboard, which I sprayed a couple of hours ago.
If I show pictures of it now, you will all figure out what my concept is, and the finished, assembled guitar might lose some of its impact.
Isn't that self-centered and narcissistic?
It isn't turquoise, Melissa, and it isn't any solid color that would hide any of that nice woodgrain. Turquoise was my biggest temptation; in fact, during the entire 1 hour drive to pick it up and the one-hour drive home, everything including my evening hamburger had that turquoise glow.
Then I saw a ruby 350 and flipped for ruby. but I've recently acquired a Candy Apple Red Fender Jaguar, so ruby was out.
How about a clue?
For color I looked to the past
And painting it sure was a blast
Now the chrome I'm collecting
And more age I'm injecting
With stuff from an old Telecast..
...er.
It will be vintage, I promise. I've never been a fan of the '80s.
Anyway, here's a picture of it just after I finished the second coat of varnish on the fretboard with its brand new frets.

OK I have desperately tried to ignore this thread because it is sort of like water torture.

Oh I know it just came back to me. My Enigma is at our place on the lake enjoying the summer. Unfortunately she won't be back until some time in October. She can understand you guys.
