What a beautiful colour Mitch...well done. A bargain I'd say. Doesn't look like an autumnglo, but who cares when you have a FG like that one. One of the nicest I've ever seen on a 620.

Thanks Anthony!I had been browsing Ebay looking at Danelectro 12-strings but I always take a peek at the Ricks to see if there are any bargains and when I saw this one for $699 BIN I just couldn't resist.

This guitar maybe "Autumnglo" afterall as I just found a 2000 post by Mr Hall in which he answered the Question "What is the Difference between Walnut and Autumnglow":

"The earliest version of Autumnglo was simply shaded brown. The middle
clear areas on most of these old guitars have yellowed, but wasn't
originally apparent. The next version was just Fireglo laid on rather
heavily. The last version was back to that original brown, but in a
satin finish, while the gloss version of that color was designated
Walnut.

So when someone says Autumnglo, you always have to ask "WHICH
Autumnglo"?"

That's interesting Mitch. I have seen a couple of what appears to be FG, but claiming to be autumnglo. That could explain it. It would cause confusion though, because nearly all the '90's FG's are very dark (even towards black at the heaviest areas....I have several). The autumnglo that I know, is like the tobacco burst that Gibson used, or a light montezuma.

This is an aged FG, not AG. AG was done with a brownish-burgundy pigment in the shading paint, which does not yield a bright red anything like this one.

It is, however, one of the most gorgeous FGs I've seen!

I agree with you Paul, but like I said, I have seen ads like this one claiming to be AG & JH's comments, as told by Mitch, are very interesting. Regardless of this particular gtr, there does seem to be a certain ambiguity where AG is concerned.

Yes that is what I would think Autumglo looks like,but it seems,from Mr Halls comments,that the second version of Autumnglo was just Fireglo renamed as Autumnglo.

I don't read JH's comments like that. It seems like he was trying to emphasize the ambiguity of describing a color with just a name.

Montezuma Brown used to be a solid s**tbrindle brown back when, too, not a burst.

Of the 30+ guitars I've owned, the 620 is by far my favorite for blues. I use both pickups on for clean stuff and the bridge pickup for when I dial in a little grit.

About as hard as I get is stuff like Cream, and for that it sounds great as well. I was really amazed at how versatile it is.
