"Rickenbaker" "Fireglo" Bass Resto Project
This is the "Ebay no pictures local buyers only" "Rickenbaker" bass we talked about in this thread (../5/61344.html"http://www.pbase.com/alanz01/1985_red_bt_4003" target=_top>http://www.pbase.com/alanz01/1985_red_bt_4003

Step 1. Find the wrench suspected of falling on the bass and bury it in this guy's head.
I won't knock Jetglo at ALL... my bass might get upset if I did! As for the choice in pickups, the more I hear about toasters the more I'm intrigued, but you can't go wrong with the high gains IMO.

What do you mean the Bass is too loud???
All black with black chrome too? That'd be very nice.
Hmmmmmm... however, upon further reflection...
...taking into consideration the money you saved on it (if I read the winning bid info correctly), pat yourself on the back, paper it over with dollar bills and clearcoat it!

My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

No wonder you couldn't get it to clank, with those funkin' Duncans on it! I tend to like basses "as intended", I figure Rickenbacker knows a little more about it than I do! If you can get that back to stock, might be a nice player with some "mojo".

I'd go with new high gains, pickguard, and and a whole new wiring assy. Oh yeah, knobs. As far as the finish goes, It really dosent look that bad.
Mike Parks has everything you need for around $300.00

Those red Ricks with black trim are cool.
