4003s Bass

Post by dudley07726 »

I have 1 4003s mapleglo Bass purchased new in 1985. Serial number shows that it was made in November 1984. Everything I have read on it (on this site)shows that it was made with mono outputs. Mine has stereo outputs. Any thoughts?

It seems that all the early ones have stereo. My '81 4003s has stereo.

IIRC, my old 80's Azureglo "S" model had Rick-O-Sound, and the 2-piece pickguard. It's still in the Forum....

Still has the early 4003 bridge, tho'.

I have an '80 4003LH, for years I thought about replacing the 2-piece guard but after 25 years I've "gotten used to it" and now wanna keep it stock. It's such a nice bass, lots of gigs, lots of memories.

That is a beautiful bass Ronn, every time I see it I wish I were left handed. I wouldn't touch a thing on it if I were you. Is that strung upside down like a rightie or is it the picture?

Thanks Bob, yep, I play with the E string on bottom, RH stringing. AFAIK RIC is the only company that offers it.
