I think that if I were going to make an ugly pickguard for a Cheyenne and ruin it, I'd at least make it a 4001/4003 style pickguard.

you guys are looking at it all wrong its probably a good thing that guard is there look how scratched up it is,screw holes are no big deal.

Yeah, this guy was probably scratching the front up, so put on a pickguard (or scratch plate as they call them in the UK) just for that reason.

Pretty ugly though!

I'm scared to death that someday I'm gonna wake up and say, "I think I'm gonna go get some scratched up, ugly black cheap plastic, and make pickguards for all my nice basses, and not care what particular shape I make" !

Heh, heh, heh !

No really, I think he's hiding a big ugly P-bass pickup route under there.
