So my guitarist has this 77' 4001...

whoever owned it before him repainted it to a fake looking burgundyglo. it is treacherous. looks like someone did some routing under the bridge as well. part of it peeks out from the side of the tailpieve and there are a few screwholes. changed out the tuners as well. he would really like to have it refinished/restored. it does at least have the original pups, pup cover, knobs, tailpiece, pickguard and trc. anyone know of a place that could do it? he wasn't specific about the color, just wants it to look "right". any suggestions that i can pass on are appreciated.

he's had it for about 5 years and paid $200 for it. i'll see if i can get some pics of it.

I have ab extra set of Rickenbacker/Schaller vintage tuners that would fit that bass perfectly. E-mail me if you're interested.

Are those the ones that would go on a 75 4001? I need some.

If you have the Schallers, yes. If you have the sealed Grovers,no. I have two sets and they're in excellent condition.

Post a pic of the back of the headstock. I'll be able to tell what it came with.
