Jeff, funny they had an incident where they thought a bass was missing. Guess that makes it an official confluence.

I happen to be having a greattime with my family this weekend, but my second choice would have been to be in SoCal

What a day. I've never seen so many Rics in one place...

Off memory: 3 or 4 4005's, 2 lightshows, 2 early F-series, 3 or 4 acoustics, 3 or 4 comb-converters, etc, etc. I played the blueflameric! Dane's 3000's were insane (that's good insane). (He was set to start carving my 4005 into a short scale, so I made him put it down.) Dane has inspired me to take a dremel to my 620. I can't ride stock...

I was so overwhelmed that I forgot to take any pictures. (but I did take some quick video...)

Gary and I observed that there was (almost) no model that wasn't here today...

Some Friday pics first.

At the very start, no instruments yet:

Why no instruments? Because we're going on the factory tour! In the parking lot of the RIC factory:

We saw lots of guitars in all stages of production. Lemmys!

4003s!

Then it was off to the museum!

Then after thanking John Hall for everything, we got the equipment and set it up, ready for Saturday morning:

I'll try to get the Saturday and Sunday pictures posted here as soon as possible. I also will probably try to have all of mine on a webpage sometime in the near future. Whew!

Hi folks! Yes, the SoCalCon was a great way to spend a Saturday! It was very cool to meet everyone, and to see all those instruments in one place....such an amazing variety! I took my '67 4005 and the '68 366-12 that was my brother's...he would have enjoyed the experience alot as well...I'm sure he was there in spirit!

I also want to say a big Thank You to Mr. and Mrs. Hall for taking the time to be there yesterday...very cool!

I am looking forward to the next SoCalCon....I'll bring my other '67 4005 (the Burgundy one!), and probably my 4003/8 and my 1973 4001....maybe also my 1941 lap steel, too!

Great meeting everyone yesterday! Image

As Jared would say "Damn". A confluence and a RIC tour. How sweet!

Hey Jim Glen, I thought you where an old man. You look much younger than I thought. Image

And a couple from Sunday.

Maybe next time they will get it correct: "Rick & Backer"! Image
