Bet it sounds great.... I wish all 3-pickup Rics came with those kind of selection options!

Just got caught up on this thread Paul. The 320 is gorgeous! The antiqued Autumnglo fits extremely well with the rest of the family.

The talent on this board is pretty mind numbing.

Thanks, Dean. As you can see, I had a couple of "what do I do?" moments before it all came together.

Melissa, they did--back in '58-'59, when 325s had only two pots instead of the 5 that yours has, and mine had too, before I set out to do something unusual.

Whew. Diagram THAT sentence, as my third-grade nun used to say...

All I did was rewire the guitar so that it had two volume pots, operating independently of each other, and one selector switch to select bridge, neck or both. With this setup the only option not available was to have all three pickups operating simultaneously with three independent volume control circuits.

Very simple, as I said--it took six inches of wire, no caps or resistors, and the pots, pickups, and output jack were there already. This is a different scheme from the original two-pot '58-9s, I'm pretty sure; I understand those had some bass rolloff features, but maybe not.

I'll draw up the diagram and post it soon.

Actually, I would love to hear some sound clips of the different pickup options.... It just sounds like it would be really fun to experiment with!

Someday in the mid-term, I'll have my Apple dedicated to recording, and my Soloist (thanks, Brian!) hooked up, and the mp3s will begin.
