A big THANK YOU!

Post by bassduke49 »

Big thank you to Gary Clauson, Jim Glen, and Joey Vasco for setting up a great weekend at the SoCalCon. I haven't had that much fun since . . . well, let's not go there. Gary absorbed the hotel expenses despite our offers of help. And he's ready to do it again next year! It was a great time and I got a lot of pictures for my future bass book. An invaluable opportunity. And thanks to all who attended who helped make it worthwhile for everyone!

What were the highlights - will there be any pix up?
Tell me does it feel the same when you've set upon a change but your heart's in the old times?

I'll add my thanks here. It was a very good time... and more importantly, it was great to meet everyone and see some very cool guitars.

Thanks for the accolades; it was a pleasure making so many people so happy!

This all was put together in less than two months' time, so I thought it went well in spite of the short timetable.

I'd like to thank all the those who attended, I really enjoyed talking with everyone (although I wish I could have talked even more with everyone there).

I also want to give a great-big special thank you to John Hall for providing the tour and for attending Saturday's session (thnaks also to Kenny for being there Saturday).

Jim, Joey, and I are already thinking on how to make next year's even better.

John Hall indicated that there will be a 75th anniversary "event" and that the timing will be late August due to scheduling the venue.

He told me nothing past that, but my bet is that there will be Rick-playing notables mixed in somehow. I'm keeping late August 2006 open no matter what.

Here's my big thanks to Gary, Jim, Joey, and John Hall. I had a great time meeting everyone and checking out some great instruments. I'll be posting my pics within the next day or 2.

Thanks for the acknowledgement guys and you are welcome, but really my part in it was small compared to John Hall's, Gary's and maybe Jim's also.

Joey - you were very helpful! With intro's and just being a generally good guy! I wonder if we made an impression on the factory guys? Or maybe they already knew what a loyal bunch of fans they have!

To: Gary Clauson, Jim Glen, and Joey Vasco (as well as John Hall!) -

Thanks again so much for setting everything up for the SoCalCon last weekend...as I said before, it was great meeting everyone, and I'm looking forward to doing it again next year! I would also LOVE to be on the list for a RIC factory tour!!!! Image If any help is needed for next year, please let me know, as I live here in SoCal.
