Nothing personal, of course, Gary, and I have no idea how good or bad that amp sounds, but it does represent a small nadir of amplifier design.
The early days of SS amplification was a checkered time...the name guys floundered a bit, and as the little guys gathered steam, they still produced some butt-ugly hardware. Mass-production methods for consumer goods often were brought into the fray, leading to stuff like injection-molded, leather-textured ABS control panels with hot-stamped raised lettering and execrable "design" details like the recessed ellipsoid knob surround. Also those cheezy order-from-stock hi-fi stereo knobs and that dinky LED where there should be a jewelled bulb.
...and the classics still look and sound good.

“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”

Oh, for goodness sake!
I definitely must check out that Woodson amp.
As you all know, I'm just getting started here in the midst of my mid-life rock-n-roll crisis... a kid in college and another going in 2 years.
Wish I could have more toys, but tuition, room and board etc. curtails some of my opportunities.
However, I have a huge wish list and will surely cave in to the "gotta have it" syndrome.
Just hope I won't be too old to enjoy it!
