What Groups Covered Beatles' Compositions?

Post by admin »

I thought it might be fun to list those UK groups that covered The Beatles.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Er...... I was going to say 'Booker T And The MGs' but you did say 'UK'. I suppose if 'UK' stood for 'Urban Kool', then I'd be close.

Retracted..............

Samiam, "Cry baby cry"... oh wait... they seem to be from the States... Freddie and the Dreamers (are they from UK?), "From me to you", but i've heard live version only...

Jimi Hendrix Experience, "Sgt. Pepper" and "Day Tripper". Obviously, Jimi is a Yank but his bandmates were Brits and they gained fame in the British music scene. These covers were only played live and/or on radio and television broadcasts.

Freddie and the Dreamers count - they are Manchester's finest sons! (or not)

Who did Ob-la-di? Was it Marmalade?
